In 1939, following successes with the A-4 rocket, the von Braun team began thinking of a much advanced Aggregate series as the range of the A-4 was rather limited. One of the projects was the A-9/A-10 which designed to carry a one-metric-ton payload from base in France to New York City.

Not sure what else the second aircraft could be other than the Me109TL, but the only part of the profile supporting that hypothesis is the wing sections.

Anigrand is going to end up with a monopoly on Luft 46 at this rate, so here's my order for a couple of "extras" - a Daimler-Benz Jäger and a Ju187.

there are some 1/144 (and other scale) unicraft kits that would be nice to have moulded to the quality of Anigrand!

I just received a batch of Anigrand's latest kits, and I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed. They seem to have adopted a new moulding method, which offers crisper panel lines, but they're entirely too wide. They're trench-like and might prove to be problematic when doing panel line washes (too thick). This new casting seems to have started with the DB Projekt A and continues through the Valiant, which was the latest kit I purchased. Not only are the pane lines too thick, they're entirely too few of them. Perhaps the wings of the Projekt A bomber actually had fewer panel lines than the Projekt B, but the new kit is almost devoid of any lines other than the flaps. In fact, it reminds of me F-Resin kits which have absolutely no lines.

This really isn't too big of a problem since scribing lines on resin is quite easy, but does take time, specially on the tiny Luft46 kits. Still, I'm thankful that Anigrand is working on subject matter which no one else is even touching, but they seem to have adopted a new approach of quantity over quality. This might explain how they can put out 3-4 new kits a month. Don't get me wrong, they're still cast beautifully with crisp detail, and I'll probably collect everything they put out. I just wanted to find out if others have noticed this as well.

I have been VERY ambivalent towards panel lines.
Even on the real aircraft most panel lines can not be seen (especially if the surface is painted. maybe on a NMF surface). In 1/144 scale a 10 mm gap (which would be rather large on a real plane)is only 0.069mm (7/100ths) and I defy ANYONE to see that.
Even some moving surfaces would have tighter tolerances that 10mm!
So I am happy with no of very few panel lines on any 1/144 aircraft.

I think this is one of those "marmite" issues, it probably divides people in equal measure!?

Badger, I can see your point they are sharper and wider, but as PBH has indicated if they were to be done to scale they would be invisible in 1/144....

i suppose, its a balance, the detail is needed to attract the eye...

on most pictures of the v-bombers the only obvious panel lines are around the control surfaces and bomb bay doors.

i'm open minded, i dont mind them taking some liberty, as you say badger. i am just pretty glad these kits are being made...

Martin,

I have to admit I only have the Unicraft Fa284 which isn't too bad. I know that earlier Unicraft items were quite crude, a fact attested to by Igor himself.

It will be interesting to see whether Anigrand look at some of the British special projects down the line. A couple of big 'uns might be the Short Shetland or that remarkable tail-first 6-engined bomber depicted on the cover of "British Secret Projects 3: Fighters and Bombers 1935-1950". Some nice little items would be the Miles Libellula, Martin-Baker MB5, Saunders-Roe SR.A/1 or one of the oddest aircraft ever, the Airspeed AS31.

PS. Kami de Koro has given us a Westland-Hill Pterodactyl.
