BD99,
ReplyDeleteRe: the Arado Ar E.555. Based on the silhouette, you thought it was an E.555-3, I thought it was an E.555-6. We're both wrong! The parts photo clearly shows three pairs of engines so it is an E.555-1, the same as the Revell 1/72 scale kit.
Actually, if someone was really affluent and could afford three of these kits, the possibility exists to model the E.555-1, -2 and -3. The schematics at Luft46.com show the only difference being the number of engines (six for the -1, two for the -2 and one for the -3).
Now, own up. Who out there can afford three $US68 kits ... and can I buy you a beer?!!!
With all the recent releases, I can barely afford one, but I'm anxiously waiting for this set. I was very impressed with their Daimler Benz release, and to add 5 more Luft46 kits to the collection, doesn't happen often enough for my taste!
ReplyDeleteAlthough, I wish they would have either released the E.555-9,10 or 11, albeit they're don't fit the classic flying wing motif. Then again, neither does the BV P.208.03, but I'm not complaining!
I just can't wait to finally get an Me329 but I really wish I could afford multiples of this kit for its different paint schemes.
I know a real dilema, you think that if I have not bought X and Y, then I would have the money or space for Z !!??
ReplyDeleteA nice set of kits !
of, course one has to buy it to encourage furhter production of the luft'46s! and similar!?
The one advantage of a large flying wing like this or the Horten Amerika Bomber is that they are only "big" in one dimension, so there's still a chance of fitting them on a rather narrow shelf.
ReplyDeleteOh and BD99, apart from cost, I have another roadblock to spending 70-odd dollars ... the Other Half, who deems my models merely "toys". How do you deal with such an uneducated attitude?!
