It appears Takara and Tomy have merged to form one company.
Let us hope Takara products become available to the extent Tomy products are outside Japan.
It is interesting to note that one of the reasons for the merger is consolidation of players in the Japanese market due to declining birthrates....
Lets all hope they use Tomy global distribution netork to sell more Takara products out side of Japan!

I don't know if it's good or bad. As normally a merge of two companies, the first thing they do is to cut cost. In other words, streamline their exactly product lines to become one. It means you have less choices. Hope this merge does not impact what we used to get from Takara or Tomytec (on those cute little buildings).
