The Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien (飛燕, "flying swallow") is a Japanese World War II fighter aircraft. Used by the Imperial Japanese Army Air Service, it was designated the "Army Type 3 Fighter" (三式戦闘機)

The P-51H (NA-126) was the final production Mustang, embodying the experience gained in the development of the XP-51F and XP-51G aircraft. This aircraft, with minor differences as the NA-129, came too late to participate in World War II

1/144 Me-262B ‘Night Fighter’ (2 kits) (Luftwaffe, RAF, USAAF, Soviet AF) - Mark I

1/144 messerschmitt Me-262B ‘Night Fighter’ (2in1 = 2 kits in 1 box) (Luftwaffe, RAF, USAAF, Soviet AF)

The Me 262 Schwalbe was a German jet fighter designed by the team led by Willy Messerschmitt. It was one of the most advanced warplanes to see front-line service during WWII. Its protracted development began in 1939, but aerodynamics research work and jet engine development delayed its mass production.

The two-seat aircraft based on the Me 262A-series was conceived in August 1943, but its prototype, a Blohm und Voss-converted Me 262 S5 was first flown only in July 1944.
Two basic B-models existed: the Me 262B-1a trainer and the Me 262B-1a/U1 night-fighter.
In total, some 29 Me 262Bs were modified, with the conversions shared between B&V and DLH. The Me 262B-1a/U1 night-fighters were all modifications, either from already-adapted B-1a trainer aircraft or directly from Me 262A airframes.

The Me 262B was an all-metal low-wing monoplane, of a streamlined design and with two cockpits in tandem. It was powered by two Jumo 004 turbojets suspended under the wings. It was fitted with a swept-back wing and a tricycle landing gear. It had a long clear-view canopy and was fitted with a non-ejection seats. Carriage of the four MK 108 cannons in the nose was intended for all the night-fighters; however, one of the NJG 11-operated Me 262B-1a/U1 had its lower two MK 108 cannons replaced by a pair of MG 151/20 guns. Due to revised fuel tankage the Me 262B-1a/U1 carried two pylons with external fuel tanks under the front fuselage.

A number of Me 262s fell into Allied hands and some were examined in Britain, the USSR and the USA post-war.

Colour schemes included in the kit:
1) Messerschmitt Me 262B-1a/U1, Red 10 (W.Nr. 110635), 10./NJG 11, Luftwaffe, Schleswig-Jagel Air Base, Germany, May 1945 and Royal Aircraft Establishment, Oxfordness Air Base, U.K., November 1946-47

2) Messerschmitt Me 262B-1a/U1, Red 9 (W.Nr. 110306), 10./NJG 11, Luftwaffe, Schleswig-Jagel Air Base, Germany, May 1945 and U.S. Army Air Force, July 1945

3) Messerschmitt Me 262B-1a, White 9 (W.Nr. 110494), III./EJG 2, Luftwaffe, Lechfeld Air Base, Germany, January 1945

4) Messerschmitt Me 262B (W.Nr. unknown), NII VVS (Scientific Research Institute of the Army Air Forces of the Soviet Union), Chkalovsky Air Base, Soviet Union, September 1946

Two ex-Eduard injection-moulded kits are supplied in this box and each kit contains 38 parts and one clear part (the cockpit canopy). One small fret with photo-etched parts and a comprehensive decal sheet are included.

1/144 de Havilland Mosquito B.VII--B.XX--F-8 ‘Canadian Mossie’ (RCAF, USAAF) - Mark I

The de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito was a British multi-role combat aircraft developed in 1939. The Mosquito was constructed almost entirely of wood and, as such, it was dubbed “The Wooden Wonder'. Originally conceived as an unarmed high-speed bomber, it was later adapted to many other roles, including day-time tactical bomber, night bomber, day or night fighter, fighter-bomber, maritime interceptor and photo-reconnaissance aircraft.

The Mosquito B Mk.IV was a day and night bomber variant, whose prototype first flew in September 1941. Some 300 aircraft were built in Britain.

In 1942 production was launched by DH subsidiary in Canada. The initial Canadian version was the B Mk.VII, of which 25 were built, while another 145 aircraft, based on the B.IV, were produced as the B Mk.XX in the period 1943-44. The B.VIIs and B.XXs went to the RCAF, while a number of the latter vesrion were also supplied to the RAF in Europe. Six B.VIIs and another 34 B.XXs were converted to F-8 photo-reconnaissance aircraft and supplied to the USAAF.

It was a two-seat, twin-engine, mid-wing monoplane, of a composite wood construction, fitted with a retractable undercarriage. The crew was seated under conventional canopy and for bombing a glazed nose was provided. It was powered by two Packard Merlin in-line engines turning narrow three-bladed propellers. Its internal bombload was 2,000 lb (908 kg), while a provision was also made for two 50-gal (227 1itre) underwing drop tanks or two 250lb bombs. Photo-reconnaissance aircraft were equipped with vertical and oblique cameras.

Colour schemes included in the kit:
1) de Havilland DH.98 (de Havilland of Canada) Mosquito B Mk.VII, KB300, Royal Canadian Air Force, Downsview airfield, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, September 1942

1/144 Brewster F2A / Buffalo - by Mark I

1/144 Brewster F2A / Buffalo - by Mark I
The Brewster F2A Buffalo[1] was an American fighter aircraft which saw service early in World War II. Designed and built by the Brewster Aeronautical Corporation, it was one of the first U.S. monoplanes with an arrestor hook and other modifications for aircraft carriers. The Buffalo won a competition against the Grumman F4F Wildcat in 1939 to become the U.S. Navy's first monoplane fighter aircraft. Although superior to the Grumman F3F biplane it replaced and the early F4Fs,[2] the Buffalo was largely obsolete when the United States entered World War 2 being unstable and overweight, especially when compared to the Japanese Mitsubishi A6M Zero.[3]
Several nations, including Finland, Belgium, Britain and the Netherlands, ordered the Buffalo. Of all the users, the Finns were the most successful with their Buffalos, flying them in combat against early Soviet fighters with excellent results.[4] During the Continuation War of 1941–1944, the B-239s (a de-navalized F2A-1) operated by the Finnish Air Force proved capable of engaging and destroying most types of Soviet fighter aircraft operating against Finland at that time and achieving in the first phase of that conflict 32 Soviet aircraft shot down for every B-239 lost,[5] and producing 36 Buffalo "aces".[6]
In December 1941, Buffalos operated by both British Commonwealth (B-339E) and Dutch (B-339D) air forces in South East Asia suffered severe losses in combat against the Japanese Navy's Mitsubishi A6M Zeroand the Japanese Army's Nakajima Ki-43 "Oscar". The British attempted to lighten their Buffalos by removing ammunition and fuel and installing lighter guns to increase performance, but it made little difference.[7]After the first few engagements, the Dutch halved the fuel and ammunition load in the wing, which allowed their Buffalos (and their Hurricanes) to stay with the Oscars in turns.[8]
The Buffalo was built in three variants for the U.S. Navy, the F2A-1, F2A-2 and F2A-3. (In foreign service, with lower horsepower engines, these types were designated B-239, B-339, and B-339-23 respectively.) The F2A-3 variant saw action with United States Marine Corps (USMC) squadrons at the Battle of Midway. Shown by the experience of Midway to be no match for the Zero,[2] the F2A-3 was derided by USMC pilots as a "flying coffin."[9] However the F2A-3s performance was substantially inferior[10] to the F2A-2 variant used by the Navy before the outbreak of the war despite detail improvements.

1/144 Wing Kit Collection "Versus Series 1" - F-Toys

1/144 Wing Kit Collection "Versus Series 1" - F-Toys
F-Toys are to release a 'mega' issue of 15 items consisting of 6x Shiden Kai and 8x P-51D Mustangs. I am not sure if these are released as singles, or twin packs like the old WTM VS Tanks. Its probably the former, with a logical pairing of aircraft based upon their adversarial nature being on opposing sides at specific campaign or battles?  I don't know if here there will be any specials at this time?

If you buy them all, you might need to invest in a new shelf! ;-)

Release Date: 8th December 2014
