1/144 Mini Diorama "Tarmac Airfield " - from CGD .
This is an 1:144 Mini Diorama "Tarmac Airfield " from CGD .
This set contains one "Tarmac Airfield " diorama base (painted)
4x Colour Options (Winter,Desert,Autumn or Summer)
2x Design options (Regular, or 'Bombed' ( I think 'Shelled' woudl be more accurate?)) Whilst i appreciate the need to add interest and avoid uniformity, I am not sure i like the 'light' coloured squares....
I would however seriously consider purchasing this, as it would be a nice display board for a couple fo fighters or a bomber!?
Diorama measures approximately 11" X 7.375 " (27.9cm X 18.7cm). A perfect display base for you collection of 1:144 airplanes and vehicles. Also suitable for N scale or 12mm scale vehicles and soldiers. (Vehicles not included.) Individually casted in resin, hand painted to the finest detail. Made in Hong Kong.
Available: Now
Cost: $29.90 + $9 global shipping
CG Dynamix ebay
Feedback from CG Dynamix
You can always special order those without the light squares. Save some painting procedures. :)
And regarding the placement of shell holes, we have to allow enough "flat" space for free placement of planes. After all, the diorama is to made the planes look good.

posts 1/144 Heliborne Vol.4 - F-Toys (update 42)
Ok, I know that at this point your wondering what on earth I could have to say about this series that we do not already know!?
I will keep it short:
1) There is some auto spin facility on the rotors "push and spin"!
So its not a fancy as Takaras gimix lights/motors, but its is interesting... Because if it is spring/grear powered it may be transferable as a self contained unit to other kits?
2) The Eh-101 is long! F-Toys have split the lenghth of the fuselage to fit into a standard F-Toys box.
Dont forget to check the previous Heliborne posts, especially the analysis by Milosz

1/144 J-35F SAAB Drakken Pit- Road
Pit Road as suspected are to release thier J-35F Drakken Kits and a "built" item - although it still looks fairly kit like to me. It is more akin to the the gashopon models in so much that it is prepainted and required some assembley including decals adding!
It would appear wither option comes with the same set of decals for Swedish schemas, so there will be some spares for future use. You could of course by the Kit version wich comes with Austrain decals (only)

Kampfgruppe144 Forum / BBS
I know there are many forums out there that have lived and died, but I have launched a new forum.
I hope this option will give people who read this blog and or are interested in 144 the ability to have a more structured and on going environment in which to discuss and develop?
Kampfgruppe144 Forum / BBS
http://www.kampfgruppe144.com/phpBB3/index.php
The previous forum was spammed to death, so I have initiated "inital validation"
Therefore new joiners will get limted functions, I will then authorise (please allow 24 hours)
All nations are welcome, this is a global board.
If may be possible in future to allow language specific forums with known moderators.
Manufacturers and Resellers are also wellcome and will get appropriate areas and functions.
This may take a little time to get under control, please be considerate.

Easter Eggs? @ ModelStories
Ok, so I cant come around and give a Chocolate (or real) Egg today, but in the same way that DVDs have secret bonus sections also called 'Easter Eggs'.. I draw your attention to a much overlooked section of the Modelstories website - The "ModelArchives" !! and in particular thier "Box Art Bloopers", now I know most you now do a lot of 1/144 I am sure that some of you go to the 'dark side' and dabble with other scales, or like me grew up with the old school scales of 1/72!
If you have been around for a few year, I am sure you wil lhave at least seen these kits, or maybe even built some of them yourself? I am sure there could be one or two in my parents loft??
So here you are "Box Art Bloopers" (in English) for your amusement...
oh, and don forget to check the Modelstories 1/144 Altaya Bombers article for this month!

1/144 Sci-Fi Dynamics Release from Anigrand
Anigrands "Sci-Fi Dynamics" Range is back with a bang!
http://www.anigrand.com/catalog_sci-fi-1.htm
USAF SR-91 "Aurora" Recon Bird (SR-71 Replacement)
There has been much talk of a replacement SR-71, be it activity at the Lockheed "skunkworks", Area 51 etc, or strange "contrails" or "black triangles (TR-3E)". The talk of Aurora or "Senior Citizen" class aircraft contine to abound
Price: $58USD
Available: TBC
SOVIET MIG-31 Firefox - Super Interceptor!
I read the Firefox book by Craig Thomas in the late 1970s and I was hooked, then came the film staring Clint Eastwood.
This model appear to be based upon the aircraft seen in the film, that good enough for me!
There is a great Firefox fansite here which is well worth a look!
(At the time the book was written the MIG-31 was a fictitious designation, which was subsequently used for the Mig-25 replacement!)
Available: TBC
It is not clear as to if there will be bonus items with these kits at this stage, although the lower than usual price may lead to the conclusion of no bonuses or maybe just the one? We will just have to wait and see closer the time?
Dont forget there is also the "Fantastic Plastic" X-JET if you like Movie derived projects!?
