1/44 McDonnell Phantom - Operation "Limey Rhino"

1/44 Phantom - Operation "Limey Rhino"

A project is in progress to produce the RAF variant  MD Phantoms with Spey engines and other RAF options, with the involvement of John Haverstock the man whose mission to create and model a 1/144 phantoms of every type,  period, configuration and colour would put a Japanese Zero collector to shame as last i heard his collection was in excess of 200 items... - it should be good!

Both the FG.1 and the FGR.2 will be available as a basic and a 'deluxe" kit. The deluxe kit will have some optional features that the basic kit wont have.

Neither will be cheap, The FG.1 and FGR.2 will likely only be the first of the Phantom "super kits" that this designer will produce. (plans exist to produce a YF4H-1, an RF-4B,C,E and an RF-4X.)

The kit will have options of gear up, in flight or on the ground landing gear struts, early and late vertical tails, a clear one piece canopy, open or closed radome, and the typical boom stuff found on British Phantoms including SNEB rocket pods!

The FG.1 will have the extended for take off nose gear strut, launch lugs and non slotted stabilators. The FGR.2 will have slotted stabs and no launch lugs.

The Deluxe kits will also have a full cockpit, four piece canopy, boarding ladders, optional position outer wing panels, flaps, ailerons, speed brakes and refueling probe.

The basic and deluxe kits both will have all four aux air doors open.

Alps printed decals available for both the FG.1 and FGR.2

1/144 Yokosuka MXY-7 'Ohka' Model 11 - Brengun

1/144 Yokosuka MXY-7 'Ohka' Model 11 - Brengun
in 2009 the Czech company Artillery released a late version Ohka, now Brengun release the original version.

The MXY-7 Navy Suicide Attacker Ohka was a manned flying bomb that was usually carried underneath a Mitsubishi G4M2e "Betty" Model 24J bomber to within range of its target; on release, the pilot would first glide towards the target and when close enough he would fire the Ohka's three solid-fuel rockets, one at a time or in unison,[4] and fly the missile towards the ship that he intended to destroy.

1/144 Mirage IV A - Miniwings

1/144 Mirage IV A - Miniwings
The Dassault Mirage IV was a French jet-propelled supersonic strategic bomber and deep-reconnaissance aircraft. Developed by Dassault Aviation, the aircraft entered service with the French Air Force in October 1964. For many years it was a vital part of the nuclear triad of the Force de Frappe, France's nuclear deterrent striking force. The Mirage IV was retired from the nuclear strike role in 1996, and the type was entirely retired from operational service in 2005.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dassault_Mirage_IV

Another great kit, larger than you might expect conforming to the Miniwing signature format and feel being cleanly cast quality resin with no obvious air bubbles. The panel lines on fuselage  are very finely cast and provide a good balance between finesse and detailing, and the kit also comes with under wing pylons with drop tanks and the AN-22 Nuclear Bomb!

This kit also includes both VAc-Form and Clear Resin Canopy options and also has a photo-etched sprue for detailing.

It comes with Decals designed by JBR-Decals and printed  by the BOA Agency for :
Mirage IVA No.9 EB1/91, Nuclear test South Pacific - July 19 1966
Mirage IVA No.53 'BZ' - ERS 1/91, Iraq Operation TARPAN 2003

1/144 WWII Airspeed AS.58 Mk II (Horsa II) - CGD

1/144 WWII Airspeed AS.58 Mk II (Horsa II) - CGD

CGDs newest release is something a little different to normal, so some of you will  like it and others will be challenged by it!?

After seeing the success of German glider landings during the early stage of WWII, The British Air Ministry issued a specification for a glider to the company Airspeed. The horsa was developed. Mark I has a port side door-ramp and could carry 28 fully armed soldiers. Mark II the improved version had a hinged nose for direct loading of vehicles and guns. Tail section can also dropped off after landing for quick exit of troops and equipment.

The Horsa was first used in an unsuccessful attack on German Heavy Water Plant at Rjukan, Norway in November 1942. Its major use started from the invasion of Sicily in July 1943, followed by D-Day, invasion of Southern France, Arnhem in 1944 and in the Rhine Crossing in March 1945.
