1/144 Wing Kit Collection VS8 - F-Toys

1/144 Wing Kit Collection VS8 - F-Toys
This new release of the VS series brings you the following aircraft types:

  • de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito
  • Messerschmitt Bf 110 Zerstörer

As is usual the promotional images are never great and the final product is normally much improved.
The Bf-110 is much welcomed since Bandai's Bf-110C release in 2009, the mosquito is a stranger having been released my F-Toys in November 2006 more recently and again by Bandai back in October 2005 - its also unclear at this point if the Mosquito is a reissue or new mold?

Estimated release : March 2018

1/144 Lockheed L-1011-385-3 TriStar K1 (500) airtanker RAF - Eastern Express

Lockheed L-1011-385-3 TriStar K1 (500) airtanker RAF - Eastern Express

The Royal Air Force operated nine L-1011-500s TriStars, six ex-British Airways and three ex-Pan Am.[2] The TriStars were bought in the immediate aftermath of the Falklands War to bolster the long range capability of the RAF in the transport and tanker roles, as the demands of refuelling Hercules supporting forces stationed in the Falklands was rapidly using up the fatigue life of the RAF's Handley Page Victor tankers.

The original Eastern Express Tristar was released in 2015 (see here for sprue shots ), This version comes with two decal options and a seperate sprue containing the in-flight refuelling probe and  rear fuselage refuelling positions.

1/144 Let L-13/TZ-13 Blanik 'in Military Service' (2 kits in 1 box) - MArk I

1/144 Let L-13/TZ-13 Blanik 'in Military Service' (2 kits in 1 box)
(RAF, DOSAAF, Italian AF, Uruguayan AF, Lithuanian AF, Brazilian AF)

The L-13 Blanik is a two-seater glider produced by the Czechoslovak company Let Kunovice. Designed at the VZLš Aeronautical Research and Test Establishment in Prague in 1954-56, its prototype first flew in March 1956. It is an all-metal monoplane, with the fuselage of a semi-monocoque construction and high set wings with characteristic forward sweep. Its cockpit is enclosed by a two-piece acrylic glass canopy. The flaps and control surfaces are fabric covered and the fuselage is provided with a single-wheel semi-retractable landing gear and a fixed tail skid.

The L-13 entered production in 1958 and quickly gained popularity as an inexpensive and durable type, which was easy to fly and operate. It was widely adopted in the former Eastern Bloc countries and was also exported in large numbers to Western Europe, North and South America. In total, more than 2600 Blanik gliders had been produced by 1978, while a small batch of a modernised L-13A variant was built in 1981-82.

It became the most numerous and widely used trainer glider in the world.

Colour schemes included in the kit:
1) Let L-13 Blanik, Black R11 (c/n 026258), RAF Gliding and Soaring Association (RAFGSA), Aboyne, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, U.K., autumn 1980
