Not withstanding how "special" these specials are, on the basis at least two out of the three, if not all have been previously released at previous shows - the "special" nature is linked to the short production run leading to limited availability after the show days. However keep an eye on ebay and som of the smaller sites and these may appear....

Needless to say, these are all part of the cool Area-88 Series, that overall has not seem a full reissue for some years (BAe/Blackburn Buccaneer anyone!?) At least any additional decals are proper Cartograf decals!

A-4 Skyhawk Slick Back Conversion - Retrowings

Retrowings have released a new kit to convert the 1/144 kit from Platz ]]
It also include parts to build the "Blue Angels" Team aircraft, and A-4s equipped with the ALR-45 system.

The conversion kits comes a single pieces fuselage, and is accompanied by a range of other components such a a new ejector seat, jet nozzle, a very fine refueling probe. The overall etching an line panel detailing is very fine, so no canyons on this craft!

I know quite a few people have complained that Platz seemed to over look this slick back /straight backed SkyHawks, so this kit should fill a good number wholes in peoples collections!

Instructions on what and where to cut the Platz kits wing section is also included

I think it will make a nice kit!

Platz will be selling a Area 88 Limted Edition of the A-4 "Skyhawk" at Wondefest.
Its not clear if any unsold will become availale from Platz direct or other sources?

1-144 A-9/A-4b Service Tower (Luft'46)

1-144 A-9/A-4bService Tower (Luft'46)
Designed for use with Takara 1/144 WOTL Series Specials.

Original design service platform for Takara A-9/A-4b, this has been produced using the Shapeway 3D modeling service and so is unpainted (Pzkpw IV not included)

For info, the Pzkpw IV was (palnned to be) used inconjunction with hydraulic jacks to raise and lower the tower. the Pzkpw IV would then be used for moving it short distances and the tower could then be fined tuned with the in built wheels.
