1/144 Soviet 'Shchuka' class submarine - Zvezda

1/144 Soviet 'Shchuka' class submarine - Zvezda

The Shchuka-class submarines (Russian: Щука), also referred to as Sh or Shch-class submarines, were a medium-sized class of Soviet submarines, built in large numbers and used during World War II. "Shchuka" is Russian for pike.

The Shchukas suffered heavy losses during the war. The Baltic, Black Sea and Northern Fleets lost 60–70% of their submarines. However, the submarines of the Pacific Fleet did not suffer any losses to the Japanese due to the tranquil nature of the theatre (military operations commenced only in the autumn of 1945 when the Japanese fleet largely was defeated). Three submarines were, however, lost to non-combat reasons. In all, 35 Shchuka-class submarines were lost, the vast majority during World War II.

From the image shown on the Zvesda catalogue, the design of the conning tower (sail) of this boat would appear to represent one of the 10 Series X Shchukas of the Pacific Fleet - there is no markings visible on the submarine.  However, in the image below  shows the same design along side the Soviet Cruiser 'Komintern' which was part of the Black Sea Fleet...

It is not known if parts to build all major variants will be included in this kit.

Kit Length 39.6 cm

Future Release: 2021

Same vessel type (no markings), loading torpedoes with the inscription “Death to samurai!” To the Soviet Shchuka-class submarine of the Pacific Fleet (V-bis series). In the background is another Shchuka-class submarine (X series). August, 1945

 1/144 Zeppelin LZ-13 HANSA- by Mikr-Mir

The Zeppelin LZ 13 Hansa (or simply Hansa) was a German civilian rigid airship first flown in 1912. It was built for DELAG to carry passengers and post and flew the first international passenger flight, visiting Denmark and Sweden in September 1912.[1] In 1913 it was hired to the Imperial German Navy as a training craft, and at the outbreak of World War I it was requisitioned by the German military who used it for bombing, reconnaissance, and finally as a training airship.

PROPELLER PLANES 1/144 VOL. 1 (English & Spanish) - Ammo Series by Mig

PROPELLER PLANES 1/144 VOL. 1 (English & Spanish) - Ammo Series by Mig

Reference: AMIG6144

This book is Multilingual, including texts in English &Spanish language

Book, soft cover, 144 pages with high-quality full colour photographs.

1/144 is arguably the aircraft scales that has seen more growth in recent times, attracting a large number of followers, especially due to the high quality detail currently achieved by the manufacturers. This scale has many advantages, but its main benefit is that it allows us to model the largest planes, which in larger scales are frequently too big to display or store at home once finished. Another great advantage is the simplicity and speed of assembly and painting of these models, which makes them very enjoyable and addictive. In addition, its small size facilitates the creation of small scenes and dioramas of manageable and practical sizes.

In this book you will discover, thanks to the guidance of master modellers and through detailed step-by-step articles, all the keys to assemble, detail, paint and weather any 1/144th scale propeller aircraft, from large bombers or airliners to small fighter planes. In addition, the final chapter includes a detailed article that shows you the fundamental aspects of diorama construction to display your 1/144th scale aircraft in an appropriate setting.
