1/144 Me-163s and Scheuch Slepper - Matti`s Mini`s
Matti's Mini's has been working on a number of interesting items, two of which that have caught my attention are the Me-163s and the Scheuch Slepper.

The Me-163s is a training version of the regular Me-163B with the rocket motor and fuel tanks removed enabling the installation of a second seat and revised canopy in order that pilots could learn critical landing skills. Interestingly the Russians captured and test flew a number of these 163S variants after the war.

The kit here is presented simply the take off dolley wheels, main fuselage and a canopy, as all three are in the FUD (Fine Ultra Detail) material from Shapeways it means the canopy is opaque  However, I feel the reason why this piece is separate is that it may provide the option for a 'heat bashed' canopy to be made (this would require a little work then to add some interior detailing.

The Scheuch Slepper is a more unusual device, design to assist in the handling of the Me-163 on airfields  derived from a pre-war agricultural 'tractor' it was adapted and with with a trailing wheel are tow rope or bar, or the one of two versions of a hydraulic trailer with either lifting arms or inflatable bladders, the former and one most commonly associated with this aircraft.

The Schllepper should also work well with your Project Flieger Me-163B bonus kit, and may even be able to handle the Project Flieger Me-163C variant (although this is not confirmed to-date). It is presented here in three parts giving your the ability to configure the kit in one of two ways.

The price is interesting at 2,500 Yen which provides the V-1,Launch Rail and accessories (not people or diorama  base). The original V-1 was 1,500 Yen just for the rocket!

1/144 Bachem Ba-349V "Natter"- by Foxone

Foxone has released his latest kit, a great reproduction of the Bachem 'Natter' rocket fighter. Designed as a short range 'point defence' for key infrastructure such as factories or cities in a bid to stop the Allied bombers.

As with a lot of the late war German products it is an interesting item for us historically, but useless in its time.

The Foxone kit is supplied with a reduced number of parts for easier assembley, and and included a launch gantry that will greatly help the reproduction of a nice diorama and display!

This is the "V" varient, and was the early development and testing version.
Therefore the kit has some revision over the previous versions and the selection of decals and recommended paint schemes refelct this. The other big difference that is hard not to spot, is the inclusion of a large industrial launch tower.

As with most Foxone kits this will be an interesting but challenging kit to build.
It is again one of many subjects that Tomytec or Project Flieger failled to address!

1/144 WWII V-1 Launch Ramp by CGD

The final instalment of this weeks great items from CGD (CG Dynamix).
A 1/144 V-1 Launch Set, with Started Kit, plus two extension options and V- 1 & Fi-103R/III set.
another interesting and unusal subject that I think many people will want to own.

It has been produced from CAD principles and appears to be a accurate representation of these temporary launch ramps form material available on the web.

I would suggest getting some Opel Blitz Tankers, A Radio Truck, Opel Blitz Canvas an maybe a Kubelwagon with some figures and your got the basis for a nice diorama. (I am sure CGD would happily sell you a dio base to match?)

Early Protoypes and Design Stage:

Foxone has is bringing another kit to Wonderfest and then beyond!

Based upon a V-1 project Foxone started a number of years ago and which never reached maturity until recently.

The experiences of the Bf-108 and Ar-96 projects gave the skills and technolgy with which to remaster this item and now the evidence is here to see.

It is a detailed kit, and maybe some detailing is overly done? It does however make for a visually apealing and engaging kit.

Like the recent Miniwing Fi-103 V-1 kit there is one item in the box and you decide the display options. (see also KG144 #1, #2)

Decals appear to be provided and are reflective of the markings I saw on the V-1 at RAF Cosford.(check before travelling)

It will be available in limited numbers after WonderFest 2010

A nice little kit, with an interesting twist of having the transport trolley.
The kit is straight forward, and the trolly is a very finely cast - i suggest you have a fresh set of blades to cut through these and a steady hand!

Interesting kit, the V-1 Looks to be well proportioned, no decals are provided.
