1/144 Baade 152 (V1 & V4) Novo Boxing by Angar 72
The History:
In the 1960s, an airplane appeared in the skies over the GDR that was destined to become a symbol of a technological breakthrough for the entire socialist bloc: the Baade 152. Developed under the supervision of German engineer Brunolf Baade (a student of Junkers), this jet passenger airliner was created as a response to the Western Boeing 707 and Caravelle.
The first prototype, the V-1 (registration DDR-SWA), which took to the air in 1958:
- The first GDR passenger jet
- Design based on the Junkers Ju 287 bomber
- Four Pirna 014 turbojet engines
- Capacity for up to 72 passengers
after the crash of the second prototype, the program was cancelled. Only three flying prototypes were built, and subsequently scrapped.
