1/144 F-16 "High Detail" F-Toys

1/144  F-16  "High Detail"  F-Toys

The translation is a bit wooly, though it appears F-Toys have announced they are to "pause" the Wing Kit Collection  after the VS collection, and/or start producing a set of "High Detail" models (that wont be available via confectionery stores - so, through model hobby stores?)

Radjapan has confirmed (check out their new items):

The F-Toys blog says wing kit collections will take a break for a while. They use the word,”Take a break” about the Vol.15. So the Vol.15 could show up someday.

F-Toys is also planning on releasing new series and they call it “High-Spec series” (something like Gimix). The High-Spec series Vol.1 is F-16 Fighting Falcon. They will come out next January or so.

So F-Toys goes with “VS series” and “High-Spec series” in the future.

1-144 Yakovlev Yak-11 (NATO reporting name: "Moose") - Mikro-Mir

1-144 Yakovlev Yak-11 (NATO reporting name: "Moose") - Mikro-Mir

Mikro-Mir are continuing their support of 1/144 and are previously indicated in their catalog are due for release (lets hope those Yak-23 and the Yak-36 are not far behind), its not clear yet whether these will be single kits, or follow the tradition of multiple kits per box? The kits are injected plastic, though better than your typical resin kit are not quite there up with revell etc, though should still make a nice kit. There is a great array of decals with this kit that allows you to produce a host schemes for Soviet,Czech, GDR, Syria  and Algeria.

The Yakovlev Yak-11 (NATO reporting name: "Moose", Russian: Як-11) was a trainer aircraft used by the Soviet Air Force and other Soviet-influenced air forces from 1947 until 1962.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yakovlev_Yak-11

The Yakovlev design bureau began work on an advanced trainer based on the successful Yak-3 fighter in mid 1944, although the trainer was of low priority owing to the ongoing Second World War.[1] The first prototype of the new trainer, designated Yak-UTI or Yak-3UTI flew in late 1945. It was based on the radial-powered Yak-3U, but with the new Shvetsov ASh-21 seven-cylinder radial replacing the ASh-82 of the Yak-3U. It used the same all-metal wings as the Yak-3U, with a fuselage of mixed metal and wood construction. Pilot and observer sat in tandem under a long canopy with separate sliding hoods. A single synchronised UBS 12.7 mm machine gun and wing racks for two 100 kg (220 lb) bombs comprised the aircraft's armament.

An improved prototype flew in 1946, with revised cockpits and a modified engine installation with the engine mounted on shock absorbing mounts. This aircraft successfully passed state testing in October 1946, with production beginning at factories in Saratov and Leningrad in 1947. Production Yak-11s were heavier than the prototypes, with later batches fitted with non-retractable tail wheels and revised propellers. A 7.62 mm ShKAS machine gun was sometimes fitted instead of the UBS, while some were fitted with rear-view periscopes above the windscreen. In total, Soviet production amounted to 3,859 aircraft between 1947 and 1955. with a further 707 licence-built by Let in Czechoslovakia as the C-11.
The Yak-11 set five world-class records.

1/144 Wing Kit Collection "Versus Series 1" - F-Toys

1/144 Wing Kit Collection "Versus Series 1" - F-Toys
F-Toys are to release a 'mega' issue of 15 items consisting of 6x Shiden Kai and 8x P-51D Mustangs. I am not sure if these are released as singles, or twin packs like the old WTM VS Tanks. Its probably the former, with a logical pairing of aircraft based upon their adversarial nature being on opposing sides at specific campaign or battles?  I don't know if here there will be any specials at this time?

If you buy them all, you might need to invest in a new shelf! ;-)

Release Date: 8th December 2014

1/144 FAM IA 58 "Pucara" - Miniwings

1/144 FAM IA 58 "Pucara" - Miniwings
The FMA IA 58 Pucará (Quechua: Fortress) is an Argentine ground-attack and counter-insurgency (COIN) aircraft manufactured by the Fábrica Militar de Aviones. It is a low-wing two-turboprop-engined all-metal monoplane with retractable landing gear, and is capable of operating from unprepared strips when operationally required. The type saw action during the Falklands War and the Sri Lankan Civil War.
[Source] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FMA_IA_58_Pucar%C3%A1

A nice little kit of what should makeup to be a great looking kit, in the style of some of the older Miniwings kits and as such  this release should bring not great surprises. Out of the box its a nice looking kit and made up of a number of sprues of resin parts and a couple of canopies in either vac-form or clear resin based upon your preference. In addition are decals for two airframes from the more recent supplier JBR Decals who also produce a range of decals that are well worth looking at in their own right.

Of course, you could make a diorama with this kit after they have had their visit from 'the boys from Hereford', though it deserves to be built intact :-)

1/144 Hawker Hunter (Revell) Cockpit Set - RetroWings

1/144 Hawker Hunter (Revell) Cockpit Set - RetroWings

Retrowings continues to support 1/144 and has issued another nice little upgrade set for your pleasure.
This time, its another upgrade to the Revell Hawker Hunter kit to boost its sparse cockpit and to add more detail. I think we are getting to the point where you can probably build a whole new Hunter from the parts available from Retrowings and theres nothing wrong in that.

The set comprises of a cockpit tub and ejection seat, with additional references for painting.
