Whilst we're about CafeReo's Big Bird series and what Volume 3 should comprise, can anyone tell me if and when we might see something new from either Bandai or Takara? Not being able to translate the text on both companies' Japanese sites (and don't suggest one of the online translators - Japanese does not translate well using just a dictionary!), I don't know whether anything is on the horizon.
Oh, and if Takara really must do yet more Bf109s in any future series, maybe a Bf109B, C or D might keep us from throttling them in the absence of a set of Spifires, Typhoons, Airacobras or something else that hasn't been done to death already.

the shizouka show didnt reveal much in the areas we wanted from Bandai or Takara!
FTOYS have a "kit" series - isuspect very much like the prepainted kits issued in takara FAOW:WOTL 2+3 which is ok, except i think thier mainly Japanese WWII....
cafereo i think is going to do a korean ware series of jets.
no news on another wing club series, or anything interesitng from takara...
oddly Takara whilst producing a million ond one other series and subject from food to guitars? have restricted their aircraft to an interdemidate 1/350 scale transport & utility craft, and trange reissue of the Model Power "airliners " series from teh US, which is also odd as most of the aircraft have been previouly released by "Del-Prado" in japan in theri usual model & maagzine combos.
Tkara have released a lame series of JMSDF submarines in 1/700 and interesting a series of 1/144 Votoms - and look like release 2 more varient series on 1/144 votoms...!? (there apparently a popular mecha/robot type series)
dragon/doyusha have been doing the modern japanese jets, but nothing yet on the horzon as yet to excite us WWII buffs!
unless you want one of those cool 1/144 u-boats?
Thanks for the feedback, BD99! I guess we are very much at the mercy of what the Japanese gashapon collector wants with a lot of these items.
As Robert and Oliver have stated in past posts, it is unfortunate that Popy have dropped off the Projekt Flieger bandwagon. I look at the Luft 46 website, combined with the wealth of 1/72 offerings from Huma, Planet Models, Unicraft, etc. and think of all the 1/144 scale possibilities going begging.
To his credit, Igor at Unicraft has intimated that he will be doing more 1/144 scale resin kits in the future (I see a Haunebu II - one of the much discussed Luftwaffe "Flying Saucers" - is slated as a possible future kit on his website), but his main thrust is 1/72, so I'm not expecting anything soon.
And, of course, mainstream manufacturers producing injection moulded kits is a helluva lot less expensive than limited-run resin kits for us poor modellers and collectors!
alas, I am lead to believe for the manufacturer it is highly exspensive to produce Injection moulded palstic kits.
thats is why a lot of the wargamien and 10-12-mm + 1/144 type peices are predominately metal cast, only only higher cost moredeailed modeling peices in resin.
From what I know of the two processes, injection moulding is much more expensive to set up BUT lends itself to high volume production.
Incidentally BD99, congrats on bidding successfully for StarJet's "VW production line"! I was certainly interested but my bid didn't even make it in the last 30 seconds. I was happy picking up the Bishop and Panther Coelian turret for less than $US10 apiece, especially since the former went for nearly $US40 the last time StarJet had one up for grabs.
