1/144 Westland Wyvern by Miniwing.cz (update)

1/144 Wyvern by Miniwing
=====================
If you were enable to but a Damiya Westland Wyvern in Tokyo recently, do not fear!
.
Miniwing has followed on from the Sea Fury Release Earlier this year and have now produced a nice looking Westland Wyvern of the Royal Navy (Fleet Air Arm)
.
This being a new issue has been produced from a mould full of detail, nice and crisp casting.
All in all this is a great looking kit, and will look good amongst the ever increasing range of British 144 kits!
.
The the banded decals are also nice strong bold colours, altough i think some people will be tempted to check there spares box for alternative roundals.

Looks much more faithful to the original than the Sea Fury! It would be a pretty interesting build!

i would imagine it will be close to the fury in the low to mid 20s Euros.

fantasticplastic.com is a great source for miniwing and anigrand kits.

Hwjapan.com & HLJ.com are great for gashapon and other Japanese only releases. HLJ also sells kamide-koro-koro resin which are just great little kits. I can't get enough of them. In fact, they just put out a Super Entendard which just made my month, since I've been after this for years.

Unfortunately, most of the garage resin from Japan are sold at festivals only and go for sale on ebay every once in a while. Expect to pay 4-5 times the price of a kit, when buying on ebay though, due to insane bidders. Only a couple of resin Japanese guys sell directly from their website, which is very unfortunate.

Hannants.co.uk, 144shop.com, and modelhobbies.com make up the rest of where you can get Euro kits. Shipping is twice as much from Europe than it is from Japan though, so buy in bulk to make it worthwhile.

Lurp

you should try joining the following for addiotina;l news and heads up on items.

The following mainly focuses on Aircraft

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SmallScaleModels/

the following, is mainly AFV but has some occaisonal Aircraft content, especially re Japanese kits.

http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/1_144/

also worth a look, although not as busy in days gone by:
http://144miniarmour.yuku.com/b144miniarmour

The other sites listed by Badger are all pretty good starting points.

sadly, you will not find muchof htis in your local stores... i cant remember the last time i went into a brick and mortar store and was able to buy any 1/144 of merit!

It is virtually all online and a large portion of international trading. Plus, the dreaded evil-bay

obviously check back here often for the latest news!

and be aware, if you see something you like.... you may have to buy it or miss out, some of niche items cant be relied on to hang around!?

That would be nostalgicplastic.com, not fantasic. Although, fantastic-plastic does have a few interesting subjects, though a bit expensive.
