1/144 WTM KV1 & KV2 Repaints/Remodel

Hello Everyone,
Welcome to teh next instalment of the Russian projects.
Here we have repainted and weathered KV-1's from WTM series.
.
The truck you have seen before, and the diorama is from Takara although this time I printed it on photo paper
.
You may notice a KV-2, which is obviosuly not from a WTM Series - the turret is an advance sample of a range to be launched by the American Store Emperors Choice Games & Miniatures Corp. in 2006. http://empcho.bizhosting.com/
.
Hopefully they will also launch many other nice remodelling items!?
.

1/144 M3 Stuart ("Honey") Mk. 1 - British 7th Army "Desert Rats" - Resin Kit

Here is a little item (and I mean little) that I finished last night.
A nice little resin kit from Japan, sorry not sure which maker as the box has little western text.

1/144 Dragon "King Tiger" - TAITO EDITON Alternate Colours!

At the risk of sounding like an old man..... I am glad that last year I started to catalouge my collection with a spreadsheet reference table.... I had to find two different storage cartons under who knows what (well obviosuly I do its no my lists) to retrieve these for you guys to look at, otherwise it would have taken days...... of searching through boxes.

Basically these are the same molds as for the Dragon King Tiger series, but in a alternative paint scheme and packaging made for TAITO amusment machine!

You may notice that one of these items even comes with a bonus painted panzer crew!!

sadly, I only have 3 of the 6 King Tigers in the series...... :(

I am suprised that these TAITO series are not talked about more in 1/144 land?

see the Panther G post below for more info?

1/144 Dragon Panther G - TAITO EDITON Alternate Colours!

The postman bought more items today!
I am quite happy with these, they are TAITO edition Panther G with alternate colours.

I was aware of them but had not managed to find any and then out of the blue they appeared on a website I had look at before and behold there they were! - mmm, so after 2 minutes thought I bought them and am glad I did!

The colours are differnet to the original dragon series, and perhaps a there is a bit too much extra colour on some items? However I like the new lighter colours on the other items, in some whats the new lighter matte paint effect makes these items look much better, especially the dark green panther which in this edition also has brown camoflauge patches - much nicer than that old horible green "gloss" shiney paint!

So take a look and enjoy - there is even a new box.

I think in Japan they are sold via amusement arcade game machines, There are the six panthers and 3 diorama cases (like you get with USA cando items) bringing the total items upto #9, the diorama cases are still available - but I am less concerned about these, as i have the cases already - but not boxed for this series.

I hope this means that the "Tiger" and "King Tiger" Taito editions are also reissued!!
I have some of these and had oppertunity to buy some earlier in the year but was stupid and did not purchase them!

15(mm) into (1/)144 wont go?? - Yes, it can!

I quite like the look of this bunker too!
Now as usual the mixing of scales can bring trouble, but I think taken on a case by case basis there is something to be said from employing the richness of the different scales!
.
Look at the "bunker" picture above - this is a 15mm scenario!
.
1/144 is approximately 11-12mm
.
Did you notice what I noticed? yes, the men and machines are not in scale?
Do you think one of those soldiers could fit inside that truck and drive it?
.
I didnt - so I bought some to try out theory .... I have one eye on a Panzer/Luft'46 idea at the time.... I still have the idea..... it is that it is still on the work bench!
.
.
But the above pictures of mine show (again, on the workbench):
  • Dragon Panzer Korps 1/144 Tiger 1
  • Brigade models - Buffalo APC 15mm(?)
  • Pithead Minitures - Mercedes Truck 1/152 (UK N-Gauge)
  • Pithead Minitures - Skoda Ost Wagon 1/152 (UK N-Gauge)
A mix of scales and periods, but hopefully provking some thought?
.
.
not related to 1/144 at all , but I think these are quite fun items!
Aeronef Fleets - A kind of Victorian Science Fiction series
.
.
Pithead Minitures (nice man):

Radio / Radar Mast ?? 6 Inches / 150mm

This is an interesting item!
its meant to be for 6mm wargaming...., but at 6 inches it could quite well feature in you 10mm or 12mm war gaming and theirfore also useful in the 1/144, 1/150 & 1/160 n-Gauge modeling

The price isnt too bad? £5.50 or @$10-12?

They also do a range of 15mm items to go with the 6mm item range, I think a number of these items would work well with 1/144.

http://www.oldcrowmodels.co.uk/15mm.htm

The pipe works will work on a number of levels and as a lot of this stuff is "future Sci-fi" it modernist or brutalist in stlye...
http://www.oldcrowmodels.co.uk/pipeline.htm

A bunker or block house tends to look the same regardless of age!?

Obviously you "Gundam" or "Robot" fans may even wish to stretch to some of the 25mm range!?

The "Wolf's Lair"!!!!???

You wonder where the KG 1-144 is controlled from, and the other wonders of the 1/144 collection and model making hapen!
This drives my girlfriend crazy!!!!
Behold.....

Ozymandias
I met a traveler from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read,
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed,
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings:
Look upon my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

1/150 Diorama Characters by TOMY

I picked these up last year, but the post yesterday regarding the "space workers" made think about some figures I bought last year!

Basically I bought them to uses as pilots or ground crew for aircraft - but I magaine they can be used by with GUNDAM?

1/150 TOMY Diorama Characters: Ultra Seven
and
1/150 TOMY Diorama Characters: Ultraman

The good news is that I can still find the Ultraman figures, the bas news is that Ultra Seven figures are in the house... in a box somewhere.....???

The bad news for you guys is that i think these are sold out !

Cafe Reo Dirorama "Coaster" bases!!?? (6cm×6cm)

Just found this item whilst looking at the CAFE REO site!
http://www.cafereo.co.jp/dc.htm
click the blue "next" Arrow - to see more examples!

They appear to be a range of miniture diorama bases for a range of purposes!
I can see imeadiately that some of these could be useful to the model maker.
There are land, sea, air, brick, desert, moon, road, sci-fi (gundam) and table cloth?

I think these could be used by a range of modellers from military modelers of 1/144
I think these also could be used by "figure" modellers as nice bases.

The bases are 6cm×6cm and cost 300 Yen
Available 9th February 2006? OR April 2006???

it is not clear if you can select the item you wish, or they are sold blind like gashapon?

further investigation would suggest that these are to be sold in two sets!

Royal science museum third series.....

These items were taken at the Winter Festival 2005 in Tokyo....
I do not know what scale they are - but they look a lot like the Takara "materpiece machines"/"Wings of the Luftwaffe" series.....
It would be nice if they were 1/144......
